Bill is spot on! Any TRUE Elvis fan was cringing EVERY 5 seconds throughout this film. They got NOTHING correct- not event the sentiment. It was solid fiction based on some of the more KNOWN events. Also, the Colonel Tom Parker estate should sue them for outright defamation. What a horrible movie.

I completely live a 24 HOUR LIFE. I think so many people do now. When I was a kid, the lights went out after the after-prime time, local news or the first half hour of Carson.
It’s like that for the kids and M, but for me it’s nothing like that. We always have lights on and activity in the house. I like it like that. -

I laughed so hard at this one. It’s been so long since I had a conversation with someone where we were really trying to make each other laugh and talk about serious sh/t at the same time.

I really am not a serious guy at all. I don’t offend very easily. You can even make “yo mama” jokes and I am able to not internalize it. That comes from being WRONG about a lot of sh/t many times and realizing we are all just trying to make it through the world the best that we can. Well, most of us are. BTW in 1990 I was still in high school and we NEVER had cable. The only time I saw anything outside of ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS and UHF 24 was when we went on a road trip and stayed in a hotel or when I visited a friend. My eyes were glued to the TV because it was so cool to have all those channels! And they never appreciated it!
-
When I moved away from home and got my first (studio) apartment the first thing I did was ordered cable. Still no internet in those early days, but it was on the horizon to change the world in the next few years…
-
I am still like that. I don’t watch Netflix or any streaming. I will go upstairs to say something to Ash and she will be watching something and I will just sit on the edge of her bed and watch a few minutes, glued in amazement of how things have changed.
-
I am saving TV for when I am old and chair bound. I think its perfectly honorable to DIE a couch potato as long as you didn’t live as one. If I am awake, I have to be productive or I will go mad. I just can’t sit and watch TV like I did when I was a kid. When I was a kid I thought all I would ever do is want to watch TV all day when I was gro…Read More

What is the Bit Depth of an Image? | Image Bit Depth Explained | 8-Bit vs. 16-Bit
5 Comments-
I mostly work in 8bit because I do abstract imagery and often it “adds” to what I am trying to accomplish. I have come to expect the degradation in color fluidity. HOWEVER, when I know it is something that I want to print, I do start out and in 16 bit and degrade the perceived quality manually if the piece calls for it.
-
Same thing in music. I work in 16 bit and my final output is usually higher. That is simply because, I have an expectation that I DEGRADE sounds on purpose to get a desired effect. I am an abstract creator (note I don’t use the term artist). You will never see my end result “clean cut.”
-
…almost everything I create has “happy accidents” that I DEPEND on happening before I even go into a project. When I playback a song of mine after not hearing it for a few years, I am just as much amazed at how I got a particular sound as anyone else, and I can’t even recreate it.
-
Like Guitar Bizarre, I just woke up at 2 AM and couldn’t go to sleep and I hit the record button and started doing what I “felt” and bounced the track down within an hour. I was perfectly happy with that. I wouldn’t make a whole album of that but that was the finishing touch that I needed to say, “hey, I’m just goofing off, don’t take me serious.”

Bob Welch was a very interesting person outside of being a musician. I know he had some ideas that were sort of “out there” so that puts him in my HIGH interest category. But like many musicians in this category that have died, you sort of have to dig and just appreciate what you can get hold of.
