As a true music fan, I always love the deep dives behind my favorite songs. Every single story seems to have that moment where the song was initially criticized or rejected- usually by someone who has an ax to grind with the genre itself or “how” the song was born into the world, and often times just because they don’t dig the artist personally.

When a critic decides to be a critic, it only emboldens me and makes me love that song even more. It makes me realize that song is getting the same treatment that some of my favorite songs got.

Long after that critic has had thier shot at my song, my song will still be around and someone somewhere will be playing it.

The critic will get his ego stroked and will have nothing to show for it though.

My song, my stories, my melodies, my production choices, methods and my FINAL PRODUCT will always be here.

I sacrifice for THE SONG. I do whatever it takes to bring my vision to life, even if it means I take a backseat, “over produce” or bring in something or someone that can complete my vision better than me.

My lyrics are my stories. My melodies are my feelings inside. My final product is my vision.
