I don’t know about the rest of the world, but cowboy boots became insanely popular in the late 80s to early 90s with the Rock crowd. A little gift from American glam rockers. It was previously something reserved for the country music crowd. Rock had boots, but they were ROCK boots- not the cowboy boots that got very popular.
