When I wrote Everyone’s a Spy, it was intended to be a “bridge track” from the sort of “Dance Rock” side of Ulterior Motives to the more story telling, heavier guitar side of the album. But, I said “Eff it, this is going to be a pre-album single, and I don’t care if it is radio friendly or not.” Sort of like when I released From the Center as a single last year. Sometimes a songs story is just begging to be highlighted. This idea and chorus had been in my head so long that by the time I recorded it, it felt like I had heard it a 1000 times. That’s how close I got this to my orginal idea. As a songwriter, I can’t ignore that. This entire album is like that. Hell! I might release all 17 tracks as a single. This is my best work and nothing will rival it.<\/p>\n
