The sun is setting red on the desert sand
I’m running out of time in this hollow land
We were dancing at the cantina, just you and me
Thinking we were safe, thinking we were free
The tequila was sweet, the night was young
But the heavy shadow of the past had just begun

Mi amor, hit the floor
Your ex-boyfriend walking through the door
The air turned cold, the room stood still
And I knew then he was out to kill

He’s got blood in his eyes and a gun in his hand
I should have never crossed the border into his bad land
Yeah, he’s hunting me down, he’s screaming her name
I played with the fire and I’m losing the game

Oh, the bad lands

I scrambled through the window to the dusty street
Searching for a miracle in border town heat
The engine’s screaming, the gears are tight
Heading for the desert in the dead of night
He’s coming in hot, he’s losing control
Trying to put a bullet in a prospective Sancho

Mi amor, hit the floor
Your psychopathic boyfriend walking through the door
The lock clicked back, the trigger pulled
Everything I built is starting to fold

He’s got blood in his eyes and a gun in his hand
I should have never crossed the border into his bad land
Yeah, he’s hunting me down, he’s calling her name
I played with the fire and I’m losing the game

Just one night (Just one night)
One wrong turn (One wrong turn)
The border is a ghost
And the bridge is burned
I’m pushing the limit, I’m feeling the sting
I don’t know what tomorrow is gonna bring

He’s got blood in his eyes and a gun in his hand
I should have never crossed the border into his bad land
Yeah, he’s hunting me down and I’m right in his aim
I played with the fire and I’m in his aim

Crossing over (Bad lands)
I’m never looking back (Bad lands)
Just keep driving
Adiós, mi amor
