I don’t believe in overexplaining a song. One reason is all my songs tend to have double entendres (sometimes triple) and it can really mess up a song for someone if they pull something out of it that the writer never imagined, or did- but didn’t want to reveal the alternative meaning.

I hope this song lands wherever it is supposed to! Hopefully it will become as part of some peoples walk, the way it has my own. I wrote Everything Is Now during a deep (possibly delusional) state of euphoria at that the possibility that there truly is no past or future and that the PRESENT is the most beautiful gift, and all of life JUST IS.

Enough of all that! Put down the top, enjoy the sunshine, enjoy this cosmic frame you are in. Know that nothing is really lost and all good things that pass, may return.

Yesterday is still with us and tomorrow is written and today we experience.

(the hidden lyric in the solo)

Lyrics and Music copyright 2026 Darren Farris Music (ASCAP)

[Verse] [Pre-Chorus] [Chorus] [Verse] [Chorus] [Bridge] Everything! [Chorus] [Coda] Copyright 2026 Darren Farris Music (ASCAP)

I don’t believe in overexplaining a song.
They say the river’s moving toward the sea

But the water’s standing where it’s meant to be

No one knows the shape of every star

Only know we’re standing right where we are

It isn’t coming, it isn’t gone

It’s the same light shining in the dawn.

So shake the dust off the weary clock

We’re waking up from the tick and the tock

The horizon isn’t where we run to go

It’s just the garden that we already know.

Everything is Now!

Everything is real, everything is wrapped in how we feel.

Never looking back, never far ahead,

‘Cause it’s all been written in what’s said!

Everything is Now!

Our fathers looked out at the universe wide

They saw the layers where the ages hide

Like a map that’s folded in a heavy hand

We’re part of a structure we don’t understand

The beginning was the end, the middle is the start

It’s all beat-for-beat inside a single heart.

Everything is Now!

Everything is real, everything is wrapped in how we feel.

Never looking back, never far ahead,

‘Cause it’s all been written in what’s said!

Everything is Now!

Forever isn’t a long, long time

It’s the mountain that we’re meant to climb

It’s the Alpha and the Omega too

It’s the breath that’s living inside of you!

Everything!

Everything is Now!

Everything is real, everything is wrapped in how we feel.

Never looking back, never far ahead,

‘Cause everything’s directly overhead!

Everything is Now!

It’s here, it’s there, it’s everywhere!

(Everything is Now!)

We’re part of the light, we’re part of the air!

(Everything is Now!)
